Columbia's Elk Valley is part of Canada's majestic
Rocky Mountains. The valley provides critical habitat for
Grizzly Bear and other large animals. The Elk Valley Grizzlies
need to move north and south along this valley, breeding with
other Grizzly populations in the Rocky Mountains to ensure
survival. And recently, scientists made an exciting discovery
in this pristine valley; a stand of 400-year-old Black Cottonwood
trees, the oldest stand in the world. But the trees, the animals
and all of this land are under increasing threat.
